Role Description The Freight Broker is a full-time, remote role responsible for connecting shippers with carriers and ensuring freight moves efficiently and profitably. Day-to-day activities include sourcing and onboarding new carrier and shipper partners, negotiating rates, booking loads, and monitoring shipments from pickup through delivery. The role involves managing dispatch details, resolving service issues, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders to ensure on-time performance and high service quality. The Freight Broker will also maintain and grow accounts, update internal systems with accurate load information, and collaborate with operations to optimize lane performance and margins.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including rate negotiation, load matching, and carrier sourcing.
Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and resolve issues promptly.
Candidates should possess Dispatching skills, including coordinating pickup and delivery times and tracking shipments in real time.
Candidates should possess Account Management skills, with experience maintaining relationships, growing accounts, and identifying new opportunities.
Knowledge of U.S. trucking and transportation regulations and common industry platforms (e.g., load boards, TMS systems) is beneficial.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple loads and priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or trucking operations is preferred; a high school diploma is required, and further education in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrate sound judgment, and meet performance and revenue targets.
