Java Engineer I, 100% Remote

MoneyThumb’s SaaS products are widely used in small business finance. We're looking for an awesome back-end Java engineer with Machine Learning or AI experience to help us take it to the next level.
What You’ll Do
You'll work in a small, collaborative team on our core back-end service. Your work will include:
Incremental improvements to our document parsing and fraud detection logic
Integrations, reliability & performance improvements, and modernization
Major new features and new types of document processing
Analyzing customer issue reports and feature requests
You'll have a voice in the design, hear feedback from the customers you help, and really make a difference.
The Person We're Looking For Will
Have 2+ years of experience building back-end Java services
Have 1+ years of experience building AI or ML models
Enjoy finding the last ounce of accuracy or performance
Be rock-solid in Java fundamentals
Be fluent in written and spoken English
Live in the United States
Bonus Points For Experience In The Following
Machine learning
Generative AI
Document processing or OCR
REST APIs
SQL and relational databases
AWS or other cloud environments
Building CI/CD pipelines
