SQE Learning Coach - United Kingdom - REMOTE

Job Summary
BARBRI is seeking a qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister of England and Wales to join our Learning Delivery Team as a Learning Coach. This role is responsible for providing one-to-one coaching, mentoring, and academic support to students preparing for the SQE and other BARBRI programmes. The Learning Coach serves as a trusted guide throughout the student journey, helping learners maximize engagement, navigate course requirements, and achieve exam success. The ideal candidate combines legal expertise, strong coaching skills, and a passion for professional education while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver an exceptional student experience.
Applicants must have the ongoing right to work in the United Kingdom without requiring current or future employer sponsorship. This position does not offer visa sponsorship, and temporary work authorization is not eligible.
Location: Remote, with some face-to-face teaching and travel required
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000
Job Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality one-to-one coaching, mentoring, and student support across BARBRI programmes
· Guide students through their studies by providing academic support, accountability, and practical strategies for exam success
· Conduct virtual coaching and mentoring sessions for SQE students and other BARBRI learners
· Respond to student inquiries and escalations, identifying when additional support or referral is required
· Proactively engage students through outreach and messaging initiatives to drive participation, progression, and course completion
· Share legal industry knowledge and professional insights to help students prepare for legal practice and qualification
· Collaborate with Learning Delivery, Operations, and Learning & Content teams to support student success and continuous improvement initiatives
· Maintain accurate student records and provide feedback using BARBRI's CRM, LMS, and other learning platforms
· Support the review and quality assurance of learning materials, study plans, and student support resources
· Participate in marketing events, webinars, and student-facing activities as required
· Act as a BARBRI ambassador by promoting professionalism, fostering positive student relationships, and contributing to the success of the global Learning Delivery team
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
· Qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister of England and Wales
· Prior experience in coaching, mentoring, teaching, tutoring, academic support, or professional skills development
· Strong legal knowledge and understanding of legal practice
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
· Experience working with diverse student, client, or professional populations in virtual and/or in-person settings
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional judgment
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn CRM, LMS, and other educational technology platforms
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience supporting students preparing for the SQE or other professional legal qualification examinations
· PGCHE, FHEA, or equivalent teaching or educational qualification
· Experience coaching or mentoring adult learners in a professional education environment
· Familiarity with learning theories, coaching methodologies, and student engagement strategies
· Experience using CRM, LMS, or other educational technology platforms
· Experience working with employer-sponsored or institutional student cohorts
· Knowledge of student wellbeing support and escalation processes
