AGNIVOX is building the next generation of intelligent unmanned aerial systems from Kerala to the world. We are developing advanced UAV technologies for applications including agriculture, fire & rescue, industrial inspection, infrastructure monitoring, and specialised aerial operations.
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Head of UAV Engineering to lead our UAV engineering function and drive the development of next-generation drone platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the complete UAV engineering and product development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
Design, develop and optimise multirotor and autonomous UAV platforms.
Lead mechanical, electrical, propulsion, avionics and system-integration engineering.
Develop and integrate flight controllers, sensors, communication systems, payloads and autonomous systems.
Lead UAV prototyping, testing, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
Develop systems for autonomous navigation, mission planning, obstacle avoidance and dynamic task allocation.
Establish engineering standards, testing protocols and documentation.
Work closely with software, AI, electronics and manufacturing teams.
Lead field testing and validation of UAV systems under real-world operating conditions.
Support regulatory, certification and compliance requirements applicable to UAV manufacturing and operations.
Build and mentor a high-performing UAV engineering team.
Evaluate emerging drone technologies and identify opportunities for product innovation.
Work closely with management to convert product concepts into commercially viable UAV solutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
5+ years of relevant experience in UAV/drone development, aerospace systems, robotics or autonomous systems.
Strong understanding of UAV architecture, propulsion, flight dynamics and avionics.
Hands-on experience with flight controllers, autopilots, telemetry and UAV communication systems.
Experience with platforms such as PX4, ArduPilot or equivalent will be an advantage.
Knowledge of CAD, electronics integration, embedded systems and UAV system testing.
Experience leading engineering teams or complex technical projects.
Strong problem-solving and product-development capabilities.
