Volunteer: In-Kind Facility Partnership Strategy Proposal

Steel Sensation Steel Orchestra Corporation is expanding its youth programs and responding to high public demand for community steelpan instruction in the NYC area. To make this growth possible, we urgently need a permanent host facility that provides indoor space for group/individual lessons, secure storage for heavy steelpan equipment, and outdoor yard/parking space for full-ensemble rehearsals during competition preparation. Because commercial rent in New York is financially out of reach for our non-profit, we are actively seeking building owners, churches, schools, cultural venues, or commercial property managers willing to provide zero-cost or low-cost shared space. In the past, finding a property that accommodates both secure storage and outdoor rehearsal clearance has been a major barrier. We need a pro bono strategic consultant to help us articulate our community value, build an institutional pitch deck, and design a win-win in-kind partnership framework that incentivizes property owners to open their doors to our youth programs.
The pro bono consultant will develop a comprehensive facility partnership proposal packet to help us secure a donated or low-cost home for our music academy and rehearsals. The final deliverables will include: In-Kind Partner Value Proposition: A structured guide highlighting the mutual benefits for property owners (e.g., free community performances, youth engagement, facility activation, joint grant eligibility, and tax deduction pathways for donated space). Institutional Pitch Deck Copy: Slide-by-slide text outlining our specific space needs—indoor lesson rooms, secure instrument storage, outdoor rehearsal footprint, and loading access—alongside our track record of youth mentorship and cultural preservation. Primary Property Owner & Institutional Outreach Letter: A master proposal letter tailored to local building owners, school administrators, church boards, and community center directors. Site Evaluation Criteria Checklist: A matrix to help our leadership evaluate candidate sites for noise clearance, transit access, storage security, and late-night access. Final Handoff & Strategy Session: Delivery of all editable source files (Word/Google Docs) and a 60-minute review call to guide our leadership team on pitching prospective host sites and property owners.
