Logistics Manager

Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and managing logistics operations supporting electrical construction, service, warehouse, prefabrication, and branch operations. This role oversees the planning, coordination, movement, and accountability of materials, equipment, transportation resources, and logistical systems to ensure operational efficiency, schedule performance, and uninterrupted project execution.
The Logistics Manager develops and implements logistics strategies, delivery processes, transportation coordination plans, inventory flow practices, and operational support systems that align with company objectives and project requirements. This position serves as a key operational leader working closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, Project Management, and field leadership to optimize material movement, reduce delays, improve cost efficiency, and maintain reliable logistical support across multiple projects, branches, or operational locations.
Typical exposure includes oversight of regional logistics operations, warehouse-to-field coordination, fleet and transportation planning, vendor and carrier relationships, multi-project delivery coordination, inventory movement, and logistics performance management supporting large-scale construction and operational activities.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Lead and manage logistics operations supporting field, warehouse, service, and prefabrication activities
· Develop logistics plans and transportation strategies aligned with project schedules and operational priorities
· Oversee material movement, delivery scheduling, staging activities, and transportation coordination across multiple locations or projects
· Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Project Management, and Operations leadership to ensure material availability and delivery accuracy
· Manage vendor, carrier, freight, and transportation relationships to support cost-effective and reliable logistics services
· Monitor logistics performance metrics, delivery efficiency, inventory movement, and operational service levels
· Identify and resolve logistics bottlenecks, scheduling conflicts, transportation issues, and material flow disruptions
· Develop and maintain logistics procedures, controls, and documentation standards
· Support budgeting, logistics cost management, and resource planning activities
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve efficiency, material accountability, transportation performance, and operational support
Supervisory Responsibilities
· Provides leadership and oversight of logistics personnel, transportation coordination activities, warehouse support functions, and related operational resources
· Responsible for staffing support, scheduling, performance management, coaching, training, and operational accountability within assigned logistics functions
· May oversee Logistics Coordinators, drivers, warehouse support personnel, or related operational logistics teams
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time
Work Environment:
· Work is performed in office, warehouse, transportation, and active construction jobsite environments
· Regular interaction with operational leadership, warehouse teams, vendors, transportation providers, and field personnel
· Exposure to construction activity, material handling operations, weather conditions, noise, and moving equipment may occur during operational oversight activities
· Travel between branch offices, warehouses, vendor locations, and project sites may be required

Position Type:

Typical Schedule/Shift Details:
· Typical schedule consists of Monday through Friday business hours with flexibility required to support operational demands
· Early morning logistics coordination, delivery scheduling, and extended hours may be required
· Occasional evenings, weekends, and travel may be necessary based on project schedules and operational requirements
Overtime Expectations:
· This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws
· Position requires professional and leadership flexibility to support operational, project, and business demands as necessary
· Extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travel may be required to support logistics operations and business continuity
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Advanced knowledge of logistics management, transportation coordination, warehouse operations, and supply chain support functions
· Strong understanding of construction material flow and operational scheduling requirements
· Knowledge of inventory control systems, logistics planning, transportation practices, and vendor management
· Strong leadership, communication, and operational planning skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects, operational priorities, and logistics resources simultaneously
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with focus on operational improvement and efficiency
· Proficiency with ERP systems, logistics software, inventory platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
· Ability to develop logistics strategies and operational processes supporting business growth and project execution
· Strong negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, operations teams, vendors, and field personnel
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred
· Equivalent combination of education and relevant operational experience may be considered
Certifications/Licenses:
· Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record may be required
· APICS, supply chain, logistics, or transportation-related certifications preferred but not required
· OSHA training preferred based on operational environment
