The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to facilitate Scrum teams, improve delivery effectiveness, remove impediments, support Product Owners, and promote Agile principles and continuous improvement across product and technology initiatives.
The ideal candidate will combine strong Scrum expertise with excellent facilitation, coaching, stakeholder management, and delivery leadership capabilities to help teams become increasingly autonomous, predictable, collaborative, and focused on delivering meaningful customer value.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more complex, cross-functional product-development teams.
Facilitate effective Scrum practices and ensure teams understand and apply Scrum principles.
Coach teams in Agile values, empirical process control, transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and backlog refinement activities.
Ensure Scrum events are purposeful, collaborative, time-boxed, and focused on outcomes.
Coach teams toward greater self-management, accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Help teams establish effective working agreements, team norms, and collaboration practices.
Support Product Owners in maintaining clear product goals and prioritized product backlogs.
Coach Product Owners on backlog refinement, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and value delivery.
Help teams understand customer needs and connect sprint work to product and business outcomes.
Facilitate clear Sprint Goals and support teams in maintaining focus throughout each sprint.
Help teams establish and maintain effective Definition of Done and quality expectations.
Monitor team capacity, workload, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.
Identify impediments affecting team progress and work with stakeholders to remove them.
Escalate systemic blockers when they cannot be resolved within the team.
Track dependencies across teams, products, platforms, vendors, and organizational functions.
Facilitate cross-team coordination and synchronization where required.
Support release planning, milestone planning, roadmap alignment, and delivery forecasting.
Help teams improve estimation, forecasting, planning, and commitment practices.
Promote incremental delivery and reduce unnecessary batch sizes, handoffs, and delays.
Monitor work-in-progress and identify bottlenecks affecting delivery flow.
Use flow and delivery metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Analyze cycle time, lead time, throughput, predictability, work-in-progress, and other relevant delivery indicators.
Ensure metrics are used responsibly to support learning and improvement rather than individual performance evaluation.
Facilitate retrospectives that produce meaningful and actionable improvement commitments.
Track retrospective actions and support teams in completing agreed improvements.
Identify recurring delivery issues and facilitate root-cause analysis.
Help teams address technical debt, quality issues, rework, dependencies, and process inefficiencies.
Support engineering teams in strengthening collaboration, quality, automation, testing, and sustainable delivery practices.
Encourage early identification and transparent communication of delivery risks.
Maintain visibility of sprint progress, blockers, dependencies, risks, and delivery forecasts.
Facilitate communication between development teams, Product Owners, stakeholders, leadership, and supporting functions.
Help resolve conflicts within teams and facilitate constructive conversations between stakeholders.
Coach team members in effective communication, collaboration, accountability, and Agile behaviors.
Support new team members in understanding team processes, Scrum practices, and working agreements.
Help teams adapt their ways of working based on evidence, feedback, and changing circumstances.
Protect teams from unnecessary interruptions and uncontrolled scope changes during active sprints.
Help stakeholders understand Scrum roles, responsibilities, expectations, and appropriate engagement models.
Promote realistic planning and discourage chronic overcommitment or unsustainable delivery practices.
Support teams in managing changing priorities while maintaining transparency around trade-offs.
Facilitate backlog refinement to improve work-item clarity, readiness, sizing, and acceptance criteria.
Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure priorities are understood before development begins.
Support teams in identifying assumptions, risks, dependencies, and unknowns before committing to work.
Facilitate release and cross-team planning sessions when required.
Support scaled Agile environments while maintaining appropriate team-level Scrum practices.
Collaborate with other Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, Product Owners, and delivery leaders to share practices and resolve organizational challenges.
Participate in Scrum Master and Agile communities of practice.
Contribute to Agile standards, playbooks, training materials, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Coach teams on appropriate use of Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Miro, or other delivery and collaboration platforms.
Maintain accurate sprint, backlog, delivery, dependency, and improvement records.
Provide management with transparent reporting on delivery health, risks, impediments, dependencies, and improvement progress.
Identify organizational impediments and work with Agile Coaches and leadership to address systemic issues.
Support Agile transformation initiatives and broader organizational improvements where required.
Mentor junior Scrum Masters and delivery professionals.
Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, continuous learning, accountability, and customer focus.

Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate should have strong experience in Scrum, Agile delivery, software development, product management, digital transformation, or technology project delivery, preferably within technology, software, financial services, telecommunications, e-commerce, consulting, or other complex product-development environments.
The candidate should demonstrate:
Deep understanding of the Scrum framework, Agile principles, and empirical product development.
Proven experience serving as Scrum Master for complex, cross-functional technology or product teams.
Strong facilitation skills across Scrum events, workshops, planning sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
Experience coaching teams toward self-management, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strong understanding of Product Owner responsibilities, product backlogs, prioritization, and product goals.
Experience removing impediments and addressing systemic delivery issues.
Strong knowledge of Agile metrics, flow metrics, forecasting, and delivery-performance analysis.
Ability to use metrics constructively without encouraging unhealthy team behaviors.
Strong understanding of software-development lifecycles and modern engineering practices.
Experience working with developers, testers, designers, architects, product managers, and technical leaders.
