AI Security Engineer

We are partnering with our top client, a leading enterprise organization, to identify a talented Mid-Level AI Security Engineer.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will play a key role in building secure AI-enabled solutions, protecting enterprise systems, and helping shape the future of AI governance and application security.

The Mid-Level AI Security Engineer will work closely with engineering, security, architecture, and product teams to develop and secure AI-powered applications and intelligent automation solutions.
This individual will help establish secure development practices, implement application security controls, and evaluate emerging AI technologies and risks.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering experience with hands-on expertise in AI technologies, cloud-native environments, and application security.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain secure AI-powered applications and services
Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, libraries, and tooling that support AI adoption
Implement security controls and automated guardrails within CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
Conduct secure code reviews and provide remediation guidance
Perform application security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat modeling
Evaluate AI-specific risks including prompt injection, model abuse, data leakage, and unauthorized access
Collaborate across engineering, product, architecture, operations, and security teams
Support incident response activities involving application security and AI systems
Research emerging AI, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies
Contribute to AI governance initiatives, security standards, and engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
5-7 years of professional software engineering experience
2+ years of hands-on experience with AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG solutions, AI agents, or generative AI applications
Strong programming experience with Python, Go, Rust, JavaScript, or similar modern languages
Experience with cloud-native development, APIs, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security fundamentals
Experience working within Git-based development environments
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
Willingness to participate in flexible scheduling and on-call support when needed
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience deploying enterprise AI applications in production environments
Background in DevSecOps, application security, cybersecurity engineering, penetration testing, or vulnerability management
Experience mitigating AI security risks such as prompt injection and data leakage
Familiarity with OpenAI, Azure AI, Anthropic, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex
Experience with vector databases and AI evaluation frameworks
Cloud platform expertise with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or GIAC
AI, machine learning, or generative AI certifications
