Role Description This is a remote, independent contractor therapist role within a holistic mental health and wellness private practice. The therapist will provide individual, couples, or family counseling via secure telehealth platforms, using evidence-based and holistic approaches aligned with the practice’s philosophy. Day-to-day tasks include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering psychotherapy sessions, maintaining clinical documentation and progress notes, and coordinating care with other providers as needed. The therapist will manage a caseload, uphold ethical standards and legal requirements, and participate in case consultation or supervision when appropriate. Contractors may also contribute to wellness programs, workshops, or educational resources that support clients’ mental, emotional, and overall well-being.
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Psychologist) in the state of Maryland practice and eligibility to provide telehealth services.
Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches) and interest in holistic or integrative care.
Strong skills in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation in compliance with ethical, legal, and insurance standards.
Comfort with remote work, including proficiency with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHR), and basic technology troubleshooting.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and boundary-setting skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain therapeutic rapport in virtual settings.
Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and sensitivity to diverse identities, backgrounds, and experiences.
Ability to work independently as an independent contractor, manage scheduling, maintain professional organization, and uphold confidentiality standards.
Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health field.
Experience in private practice, community mental health, or similar settings is beneficial; interest in holistic wellness (e.g., mindfulness, somatic practices, lifestyle interventions) is a plus.
