Role Description The Social Media and Promotional Team role is a part-time, remote position focused on growing Book Bulletin’s online presence and reader community. Team members will plan and schedule social media posts, create engaging captions and visuals, and share updates about new book releases and reviews. Daily tasks include monitoring comments and messages, interacting with followers, and collaborating with other team members to coordinate campaigns and special features. The role also involves brainstorming new promotional ideas, supporting virtual events or social media series, and tracking basic engagement metrics to improve reach. This position is well-suited for individuals who enjoy reading, content creation, and online community-building in a flexible, student-friendly environment.
Qualifications

Demonstrated skills in social media management, including creating posts, writing captions, and maintaining consistent branding across platforms.
Ability to produce clear, engaging written content, with strong skills in basic editing and proofreading.
Comfort with visual content creation, such as simple graphic design, image selection, or basic video clips for promotional use.
Interest in contemporary books and reading culture, with the ability to communicate enthusiasm and recommendations to a broad audience.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and coordinate with a remote, student-led team.
Professional online communication skills and a respectful, inclusive approach to interacting with diverse community members.
Familiarity with major social media platforms (e.g., Instagram) and basic analytics tools (e.g. Canva) is preferred.
Previous experience in social media, promotion, or campus organizations is a plus, but not required; motivation to learn and experiment is highly valued.
