Role Description This full-time, on-site CDL A Truck Driver role is based in Chicago, IL. The driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle to transport goods between customer locations, terminals, and distribution centers. Daily tasks include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, following designated routes, and adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies. The role involves completing delivery paperwork, maintaining accurate logs, communicating with dispatch, and reporting any mechanical issues or delays. Drivers may be expected to handle regional or long-haul routes, meet delivery schedules, and provide professional customer service at pickup and drop-off locations.
Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and adherence to all DOT regulations.
Proven experience operating tractor-trailers or similar commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
Ability to perform vehicle inspections, basic troubleshooting, and proper load securement.
Strong time-management skills and reliability in meeting delivery schedules and deadlines.
Effective communication skills for working with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
Willingness to work full time on site in Chicago, IL, with flexibility for different routes and schedules.
Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of the cab, and occasionally handle freight as required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional driver safety training or certifications are an advantage.
