Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license and a strong background in industrial systems. This role has direct responsibility for engineering quality, design decisions, and stamped deliverables, and is ideal for someone with 4+ years of experience, a passion for practical problem-solving, and the ability to guide projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, and system sixing for electrical power distribution, lighting, and control systems
Review, approve, and seal engineering designs, drawings, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards
Develop technical specifications for equipment and installation
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into broader project designs
Coordinate with vendors, clients, and construction teams to ensure project requirements are met
Conduct and document site visits, inspections, and as-built verifications as needed
Provide technical leadership and final review of engineering deliverables to ensure quality and compliance
Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (ABET-accredited)
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama (required) or the ability to obtain reciprocity/comity; additional state licensure strongly preferred
Minimum 4 years of electrical engineering experience, ideally in industrial or heavy facility environments
Experience with power distribution, lighting, and control systems design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar) is a plus
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Commitment to maintaining licensure in good standing, including continuing education requirements
