Across hundreds of engagements, the same problem kept appearing: organizations needed high-quality strategic planning, but traditional consulting engagements were often too expensive, too time-intensive, and difficult to scale.
coLAB therefore developed VERVE, an AI-powered SaaS platform that transforms a traditionally expensive strategic planning engagement into an affordable annual subscription.
Built on more than ten years of proprietary nonprofit consulting methodology, VERVE helps leadership teams assess organizational health, identify strategic priorities, strengthen governance, develop implementation plans, and continuously track performance.
Rather than producing a static strategic plan that becomes outdated over time, VERVE is designed to operate as an ongoing strategic intelligence platform for nonprofit leadership.
The platform is already live in the market. coLAB has completed its pilot, onboarded paying customers, established tiered pricing, and successfully productized its consulting methodology.
VERVE has also demonstrated that it can reduce a traditional 150-hour consulting engagement to approximately 10 hours while lowering costs by more than 90%. The company’s longer-term goal is to build the strategic operating system for the nonprofit sector — a platform that helps organizations make better decisions continuously, rather than once every few years.
THE OPPORTUNITY
coLAB is looking for experienced Strategic Executives who can contribute relevant operating experience, commercial perspective, relationships, and ownership alignment as the company grows.
This is not an employment role.
The company is looking for individuals who have experience helping businesses move from early validation into commercial scale and who can contribute in specific areas where coLAB intends to grow.
Those areas include:
SaaS growth and commercialization
Customer acquisition and go-to-market
Distribution and strategic partnerships
AI and product strategy
Organizational growth and capital strategy
Strategic Executives may contribute in one or more of these areas based on their background.
Engagement is strategic and periodic rather than operational.
COMMERCIAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT
coLAB serves the nonprofit and social impact market, but the underlying commercial opportunity is significant. The U.S. nonprofit sector contributes more than $1.5 trillion annually to the economy and employs more than 12.5 million people.
More than 97% of nonprofit organizations operate with annual budgets below $5 million, creating a large market of organizations that need better strategic infrastructure but are frequently underserved by traditional consulting firms and enterprise software providers creating a natural and sustainable moat for this business model.
VERVE addresses that market through a recurring-revenue SaaS model. The social impact and commercial model are directly connected.

ROLE OF THE STRATEGIC EXECUTIVE
Depending on experience, Strategic Executives may contribute across:
SaaS Growth & Commercialization
Helping coLAB build repeatable revenue growth, pricing, customer success, commercial processes, and expansion strategy.
Customer Acquisition & Go-to-Market
Providing experience around demand generation, enterprise selling, sales process development, positioning, and customer conversion.
Distribution & Strategic Partnerships
Helping identify channel partners, industry relationships, foundations, nonprofit networks, associations, and other routes to market.
AI & Product Strategy
Supporting product development, AI strategy, roadmap prioritization, data strategy, usability, and platform scalability.
Organizational Growth & Capital Strategy
Contributing experience around scaling teams, leadership structure, capital planning, governance, and long-term company development.
The intention is to match each Strategic Executive to areas where their experience can directly support company growth.
OWNERSHIP ALIGNMENT
coLAB is looking for individuals who are willing to contribute both strategically and financially.
Candidates should have experience evaluating private-company investments and should have the capacity to consider an investment where there is strong mutual alignment.
We are looking for individuals who can contribute relevant experience and relationships while also having skin in the game as long-term owners of the business.
This is not a salaried position.

We are looking for individuals with 10+ years of senior executive, founder, or investment experience, particularly across:
