Temporary Data Analyst
wikiHow is seeking a temporary, part-time Data Analyst with the potential for longer-term employment depending on business needs. In this role, you will fill in for an employee on leave to ensure operations continue smoothly. We expect this 3-to-4-month position to begin in mid-November.
This job is remote, and requires you to be online and working during PT hours. To be eligible, you must reside and physically perform all work within one of the following states: California, Oregon, or Washington.
What you’ll do:
Help design and monitor content experiments
Gather, clean and analyze data from multiple sources to measure content performance
Communicate performance results to multiple teams including senior leadership (both written and verbally)
Provide weekly and monthly reporting
Work with data warehousing (Big Query)
Work across a number of proprietary and 3rd party analytic systems including GA4
Create, optimize, update, and share data tools throughout the organization to improve business outcomes

You have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field OR 3+ years of analytical experience
You’re a keen analytical thinker, and enjoy generating and testing hypotheses
You have a history of effectively communicating data. You know that numbers alone aren’t enough to tell the full story.
You’re able to work through tasks and solve problems independently with minimal guidance, while also welcoming collaboration.
You’re detail-oriented, and a persistent and creative problem solver
You are fun to work with and don’t take yourself too seriously.
Have a deep passion for web analytics and data
Technical requirements:
R programming skills within the tidyverse ecosystem (dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, etc). Ability to wrangle data, craft data visualizations, work with time series, and interface with APIs.
Ability to write SQL queries including exposure to complex CTEs, window functions, and query optimizations
Understanding of statistics, especially experimentation and causal inference. Experience communicating concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiar with other scripting languages like Python or PHP.
Familiar with source control management systems, like Git
Familiar with AI systems

$40-$47 hourly rate, depending on location and experience
Temporary (W-2) employee with potential for longer-term employment
This position is not eligible for company health or retirement benefits, but includes state-mandated paid sick leave where applicable.
