Position Title: Senior FOIA Analyst

Duties And Responsibilities
Duties include the following:
Processing a large volume of routine, backlogged, appeal, and litigation FOIA cases.
Identifying potential requests meeting criteria for administrative closure or narrowing of request scope.
Disclosure review and analysis.
Application of FOIA exemptions.
Preparing records for release, including the redaction of materials to be withheld, and duplicating materials, as necessary.
Drafting correspondence and engaging in FOIA communications with requesters to narrow the scope of requests.
Engaging in FOIA communications with custodians to refine search terms, identify disclosure concerns, and assess foreseeable harm.
Performing and ensuring Quality Control.
Support other CMS program FOIA support service needs, e.g., document review, search term creation.
Development, operations and maintenance, and enhancements to system and features of a FOIA workflow tracking system.
Perform FOIA Case Processing and Closure tasks to include:
Case Assignment and Review
Disclosure Review
Records Redaction
Process records pertaining to FOIA litigation/appeals
Develop FOIA Search Terms and Searches
Make QA and Process Improvement Recommendations
Knowledge And Qualifications
Must possess at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
At least 10 years' experience as an industry professional.
Must possess required FOIA Act technical knowledge and demonstrated experience with the FOIA process, related federal laws and requirements, and an understanding of CMS organizational components, OSORA FIG processes, and CMS regional location coordination processes and contacts.
Knowledge and experience providing quality customer service to Government employees, military personnel, contractors, and/or visitors.
