Role Description The Workshop Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations and ensuring smooth, efficient service delivery. This role involves planning and allocating work to technicians, monitoring repair and maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Workshop Manager will manage job cards, spare parts coordination, and turnaround times, while communicating regularly with customers about service status, cost estimates, and post-service feedback. The role also includes supervising staff performance, conducting training where needed, maintaining workshop tools and equipment, and preparing operational reports for management. The Workshop Manager is expected to drive process improvements, control costs, and support a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
Strong experience in automotive workshop management, including supervision of technicians and service staff.
Sound knowledge of vehicle service, repair processes, diagnostics, and workshop safety procedures.
Ability to manage workflow, scheduling, job cards, and spare parts to ensure timely service completion.
Effective communication and customer service skills to handle inquiries, complaints, and service explanations clearly.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and service management software for documentation and reporting.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and monitor a diverse workshop team.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and focus on quality standards.
Diploma or degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience in a similar role within an automotive dealership or service center in Ahmedabad or nearby regions is an advantage.
