Electrical Engineer
In this role, you will be a member in the team responsible for the design, analysis, and qualification of all avionics systems at Starpath, across all product lines. Systems include motion control, communications, compute, power management, sensor payloads, and more. You will serve as the responsible engineer on several of these systems from developing design requirements through to the flight execution.
Responsibilities:
- Own systems, subsystems, and components from requirements to deployment
- Conduct trade studies and first-order analyses to define system requirements
- Determine qualification testing criteria in accordance with spaceflight testing standards
- Validate systems, subsystems and components via testing in simulated launch/Lunar surface environments
- Work cross-functionally with adjacent teams to incorporate electrical, thermal, and software requirements while meeting integration timelines and system milestones
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience developing electrical systems for space applications
- Experience with electrical board design (schematic capture, PCB layout, electrical circuit simulation, etc)
- Experience with electrical testing, equipment and setup (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, data acquisition, etc)
- Strong technical communication and the ability to work in a fast paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience developing electrical systems for space applications
- Track record of owning and delivering spaceflight hardware across the entire product lifecycle
- Extensive experience with several of the following:
- Embedded system design
- Environmental testing for space environments
- Power system design
- Rapid board prototyping
- Radiation effects, mitigation, and testing
EAR Requirements:
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, you must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
