Role Description The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting operations, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting within a biotech/technology environment. This part-time remote role includes managing the monthly close process, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and supervising journal entries for complex transactions. The position will also involve maintaining and reconciling fixed asset records, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and partnering with Finance leadership on analysis and reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing account reconciliations, implementing and refining internal controls, coordinating with external auditors or tax advisors as needed, and providing guidance to junior accounting staff. The Senior Accounting Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data supports strategic decisions and meets regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing Financial Statements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clear reporting.
Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
Candidates should possess expertise in Journal Entries (Accounting), including complex accruals, adjustments, and general ledger maintenance.
Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
Candidates should possess experience managing Fixed Assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Experience in biotech, technology, or similarly regulated industries, along with knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks, is highly beneficial.
Strong communication skills, proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and spreadsheets, and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity are essential.
