Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and entrepreneurial Co-Founder and Frontend Lead to take ownership of frontend engineering while helping shape the product and technology direction of the company. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, product collaboration, and early-stage business building.
The ideal candidate is an experienced frontend engineer who enjoys working in fast-moving environments, making architectural decisions, building products from the ground up, and collaborating closely with founders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and evolution of the company's frontend applications.
Establish frontend architecture, development standards, and engineering best practices.
Build scalable, responsive, and high-performance web applications.
Develop reusable UI components and maintain a consistent design system.
Work closely with product, design, and backend teams to define and deliver product features.
Translate product concepts and business requirements into technical solutions.
Make technology and architecture decisions related to frontend development.
Review code and provide technical guidance to other developers.
Establish development workflows, testing practices, and code-quality standards.
Integrate frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
Monitor application performance, reliability, accessibility, and security.
Lead frontend development from prototype and MVP stages through production.
Help define the company's product roadmap and technical priorities.
Participate in product strategy and feature planning.
Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and development tools.
Help recruit, mentor, and build the engineering team as the company grows.
Collaborate with founders and stakeholders on business and technology decisions.
Represent the technical vision of the company when working with partners, customers, or investors when appropriate.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of professional software engineering or frontend development experience preferred.
Strong experience with modern JavaScript and frontend frameworks.
Advanced knowledge of React, Next.js, Vue.js, Angular, or comparable technologies.
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and responsive design.
Experience designing frontend architecture for scalable applications.
Strong understanding of REST APIs and modern web application architecture.
Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical initiatives.
Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to work across technical and business functions.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous startup or early-stage company experience.
Experience taking a product from concept or MVP to production.
Experience building and maintaining design systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Knowledge of frontend performance optimization and web accessibility.
Experience mentoring or managing frontend engineers.
Strong product-development and user-experience perspective.
Previous founder, technical co-founder, or startup leadership experience.
