Role Description The Assistant Controller is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting the company’s financial integrity and reporting accuracy. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The role will help maintain internal controls, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The Assistant Controller will collaborate with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to analyze financial performance and provide insight for decision-making. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating audits, improving financial processes, and contributing to system enhancements.
Qualifications
Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting for management and stakeholders.
Knowledge of GAAP or relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance procedures.
Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and present clear, concise reports and recommendations.
Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across accounting, operations, and leadership teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is preferred.
Prior experience in hospitality, real estate, or multi-unit operations is beneficial.
