You Are
UST is searching for an Associate Data Scientist who will assist in collecting, integrating and pre-processing data from multiple sources for analysis and model building.
The Opportunity
Support exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and visualization of business datasets
Assist in building, testing and validating machine learning models under senior guidance
Support deployment and monitoring of models to ensure they run correctly in production
Prepare dashboards, reports and documentation to communicate insights to stakeholders
Collaborate with client teams, data engineers and business analysts to understand requirements
Adhere to client data security, privacy and compliance standards (including HIPAA/PHI handling where applicable)

What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
0–2 years of experience in data science, analytics or a related field
Skills:
Working knowledge of Python and SQL
Familiarity with R is an advantage
Foundational understanding of statistics, machine learning algorithms and data modeling concepts
Exposure to visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work directly with client stakeholders
Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the USA and available to work from the client location
Preferred/Value-Add:
Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and model deployment frameworks such as Flask/REST API
Familiarity with US healthcare or payer domain data
Entry-level certification in data science, analytics or cloud
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote - US
Compensation Range: $56,000-$84,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
