Data Solution Architect (Azure & Databricks)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Solution Architect (Azure & Databricks) to serve as a primarytechnical authority driving the architecture, design, and execution of modern enterprise data platforms.This role bridges high-performance data engineering with cutting-edge semantic modeling,conversational AI, and agentic framework designs across Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric ecosystems.
The ideal candidate brings deep architectural expertise across the Medallion lakehouse lifecycle, source-to-target mapping (STTM), domain ontologies, Unity Catalog governance, and AI-driven experiences(such as Databricks AI/BI Genie, Fabric Data Agents, and LangGraph/RAG integrations). Additionally,prior experience in pre-sales activities, client solutioning, and technical RFP proposal preparation is a strong plus, enabling the candidate to lead technical bids, articulate enterprise blueprints, and drive end-to-end client engagement execution.
Key Responsibilities
 Platform & Architecture Design: Design, build, and oversee high-performance, scalable data
lakehouses using Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. Establish and optimize
multi-tier storage strategies (Raw, Bronze, Silver, Gold / Medallion Architecture).
 Semantic, Contextual & Ontology Modeling: Architect advanced semantic layers, business context mappings, and domain ontologies to bridge raw technical data structures with business-ready,machine-interpretable context. Model domain ontologies and knowledge graphs within Databricks(e.g., using GraphRAG) and leverage Purview Business Glossaries/Fabric Domains in Microsoft Fabric.
 Conversational AI & Metric Standardization: Architect and deploy Databricks AI/BI Genie Spaces, AI Agents, and Unity Catalog Metric Views to enable secure, natural-language ad-hoc analytics and standardized KPIs. Design equivalent conversational and semantic interfaces in Microsoft Fabric using Fabric Data Agents, AI Skills, and Power BI Direct Lake Semantic Models.
 AI & Agentic Framework Integration: Design data pipelines and semantic foundations optimized for modern AI workflows, enabling seamless integration with Agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph,LangChain, Agentbricks), Vector databases, and RAG architectures.
 Data Architecture & STTM Creation: Author and maintain comprehensive end-to-end Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents, defining granular transformation logic, business rules, schema evolution, and conceptual/logical/physical models.
 Pre-Sales & Proposal Leadership (Plus): Collaborate with sales and practice leads to drive technical pre-sales engagements, architect RFP technical solutions, author bid responses, deliver client demonstrations, and estimate project effort and sizing.
 Governance & Security: Implement unified governance, metadata management, and access
controls across the data estate (utilizing Unity Catalog, Fabric OneLake governance, and Master Data Management strategies).
 Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business
Architecture teams to translate complex functional demands into executable, enterprise-grade
technical blueprints.
Technical Skills & Qualifications ,Primary Requirements (Must-Have)
 Cloud & Platform Expertise: Advanced hands-on experience across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse) and hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Fabric Data Agents, AI Skills) and CI/CD pipelines\(Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform).
 Databricks Ecosystem: Deep hands-on mastery of Databricks (Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity
Catalog, PySpark, Spark SQL, Databricks AI/BI Genie Spaces, Genie Agents, and Metric Views).
 Semantic & Knowledge Modeling: Proven experience in building semantic layers, contextual layers,and domain-specific ontologies/knowledge graphs for enterprise data platforms across Unity Catalog and Microsoft Purview.
 AI & Agentic Systems: Familiarity or hands-on exposure to agentic frameworks and AI ecosystems such as LangChain, LangGraph, Agentbricks, GraphRAG, and vector database platforms.
 Architectural Foundations & Mapping: Strong data architect capabilities, including enterprise data modeling (Star Schema, Data Vault, 3NF) and extensive experience crafting complex Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) specifications.
Preferred Skills (Good-to-Have)
 Pre-Sales & Proposals (Strong Plus): Hands-on experience in technical pre-sales activities, RFP/RFI proposal response development, solution design defense, and effort estimation.
 Network & Security Architecture: Understanding of enterprise cloud networking and security principles, including Azure VNets, Private Endpoints, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Private Link,cross-cloud peering/VPNs, and Entra ID / RBAC security governance.
 Data Modeling Tools: Proficiency with enterprise data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio, dbt).
 Domain Experience: Exposure to service industry operational workflows, real estate, or enterprise
commercial business models.
Experience & Education
 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical
field.
 10–12 years of total data engineering and data architecture experience, with a proven track record
as a lead technical authority across Azure Databricks ecosystems.
 Proven background in end-to-end enterprise project delivery, with demonstrated ownership for
driving technical architecture and successfully executing client engagements.
 Relevant Certifications (Added Advantage): Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate,
Databricks Certified Data Engineer / Data Architect.
