About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled AWS Data Architect to join a strategic data transformation initiative for a leading global banking organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, architecting, and governing enterprise-scale cloud data solutions on AWS, enabling secure, scalable, and high-performance data platforms that support critical business and regulatory requirements.
The role requires deep expertise in AWS data services, modern data architecture patterns, cloud migration strategies, data governance, and large-scale analytics ecosystems. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, and leadership teams to drive cloud-first data modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise-grade data architectures on AWS Cloud.
Define and govern data architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
Architect scalable Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and modern Lakehouse solutions.
Lead cloud migration and modernization programs from legacy/on-premises environments to AWS.
Design robust ETL/ELT frameworks for ingestion, transformation, and integration of large datasets.
Establish data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
Ensure data security, compliance, privacy, and regulatory standards are embedded within architecture designs.
Drive high availability, performance optimization, scalability, and cost efficiency of cloud data platforms.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to development and engineering teams.
Support enterprise analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and advanced data consumption use cases.

Experience working within Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets organizations.
Strong understanding of security, compliance, risk, and governance requirements in regulated environments.
Hands-on experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native data platforms.
Experience supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics data ecosystems.
AWS certifications such as:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Required Experience
8 to 12 years of overall IT experience.
Minimum 4+ years of hands-on AWS Data Architecture experience.
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale cloud data solutions.
Strong expertise in Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and modern data platform architectures.
Experience with cloud migration, modernization, and data transformation initiatives.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
