Role Description The Fabrication CNC Machine Shop Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurgaon, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the CNC and fabrication shop. This includes planning and scheduling jobs, allocating resources, and monitoring production to meet quality, safety, and delivery targets. The manager supervises machinists and fabrication staff, provides technical guidance, and ensures proper use and maintenance of CNC machines, cutting tools, and measuring instruments. Daily tasks include reviewing drawings, optimizing machining processes, coordinating with design, procurement, and quality teams, and maintaining inventory of materials and consumables. The role also involves implementing lean practices, enforcing safety protocols, troubleshooting production issues, and preparing reports on productivity, downtime, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of CNC machining, fabrication processes, and operation of machine shop equipment (e.g., CNC routers, milling machines, laser cutting, press brakes).
Experience in production planning, workflow optimization, and shop-floor scheduling in a fabrication or machining environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical panel layouts, and technical specifications; familiarity with tolerances and quality standards.
Proficiency with basic CAD/CAM or CNC programming tools and comfort working with digital production documentation.
Demonstrated skills in team leadership, performance management, and training of machine operators and fabrication staff.
Knowledge of safety regulations, housekeeping standards, and implementation of safe work practices in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with quality control procedures, use of measuring instruments, and root-cause analysis for defects or rework.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across production, design, procurement, and logistics.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering; significant hands-on experience in a machine shop environment.
Prior experience in electrical panel or metal enclosure manufacturing is an advantage; familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S is a plus.
