Role Description The Interior Designer will work full time on-site in Mumbai, collaborating closely with project managers, architects, and clients to design and deliver retail and commercial interiors. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design concepts, preparing mood boards and material palettes, and translating brand requirements into spatial solutions. The role involves creating and reviewing drawings, coordinating with the manufacturing team, and ensuring that design intent is accurately executed on site. The Interior Designer will participate in client meetings, conduct site visits and measurements, and assist in selecting FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment). This position also requires maintaining project documentation, aligning designs with budgets and timelines, and supporting quality control during installation and handover.
Qualifications
Strong Interior Design skills, including concept development and detail-oriented design for retail and commercial spaces.
Proficiency in Space Planning and Architecture fundamentals to create functional, brand-aligned layouts.
Ability to produce and interpret Construction Drawings and technical documentation for execution.
Experience with FF&E selection, specification, and coordination with vendors and manufacturing teams.
Knowledge of materials, finishes, and fabrication processes relevant to retail displays and commercial interiors.
Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, and photoshop) and presentation tools.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with cross-functional teams and clients.
Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; prior experience in retail or commercial interiors is an advantage.
