Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a CNC/VMC Turning and Turnmill Operator and Setter located in Bengaluru South. The role involves operating and setting CNC and VMC turning and turnmill machines, loading and unloading workpieces, and preparing tools and fixtures according to job requirements. The operator will interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs, perform basic offsets and adjustments, and ensure machining operations meet dimensional and surface finish specifications. Daily tasks include monitoring machine performance, performing routine checks, maintaining cleanliness and safety around the machines, and collaborating with supervisors and engineers to resolve production issues. The role also includes documenting production data, following quality control procedures, and supporting continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.
Qualifications
CNC/VMC programming skills, including understanding of G-code, basic editing of programs, and setting offsets.
Strong machining skills, including experience with turning and turnmill operations, tool selection, and measurement using gauges and instruments.
Ability to share knowledge and support peer learning or operator training on safe and efficient machine operation.
Prior experience in a precision manufacturing or industrial automation environment, preferably in CNC/VMC operations.
Knowledge of safety standards and quality procedures in machining and production settings.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and willingness to work in shifts if required.
Relevant technical diploma, ITI, or vocational qualification in machining, mechanical, or related field is preferred.
