About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

A leading global high-performance plastics and resin manufacturer is seeking a Senior Business
Development Advisor / Consultant to accelerate customer approval and market adoption of advanced Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) compounds across North America.
In this strategic, high-impact role, you will leverage your deep industry network and expertise in piping systems to map decision-making channels, overcome technical and regulatory barriers, and facilitate executive-level engagements.
You will guide key clients through every phase of commercialization—from technical evaluations and code certifications to contract execution and full product launch.
Compensation: $150.00 – $260.00 / hour ($72,000 – $125,000 estimated annual contract value)
Incentives: Performance-based KPI bonuses tied to key project milestones (e.g., FM/UL filings, term sheet execution, final supply agreement)
Position Type: Independent Consultant Contract (6–12 Month Term)
Time Commitment: Approx. 40 hours/month (5 days/month, flexible schedule)
Location: Remote (U.S. East Coast preferred — GA, NJ but open to other locations)
Expenses: Pre-approved travel and out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed separately
Core Responsibilities:
Decision Mapping & Strategy: Identify and map key decision-makers, influencers, and approval workflows at target customer accounts; pinpoint technical, regulatory/certification, and commercial barriers to adoption.
Executive Engagement: Plan, prepare, and participate in high-level executive and functional alignment meetings between North American clients and global corporate leadership.
Competitive Positioning: Develop strategic market positioning and proactive responses against incumbent competitors in the North American CPVC/PVC piping landscape.
Roadmap to Commercial Launch: Build and execute actionable end-to-end commercial roadmaps—moving from initial technical evaluation and certifications (e.g., FM/UL, NSF) through term sheet finalization and market launch.
Execution & Reporting: Conduct post-meeting analysis, establish actionable timelines, and deliver monthly progress reports to executive stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related technical/field.
Industry Experience: 15–20+ years of progressive leadership experience within major North American piping manufacturers, CPVC compound/resin suppliers, or closely related additive sectors.
Functional Background: Proven track record in business development, commercial sales, product management, technical service, or code and standard certification functions.
Executive Network: Active C-suite and senior leadership relationships across the North American piping, materials, and plumbing/industrial supply chains.
Operational Readiness:
Capability for 0–5 travel days per month as required.
Strict adherence to non-disclosure and confidentiality requirements.
Flexibility to accommodate periodic early morning or late evening calls to align with overseas headquarters.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within or consulting for global cross-border multinational corporations (including international cross-cultural team alignment).
Proven success navigating complex North American code approvals and product testing standards (e.g., UL, FM, NSF).
Experience operating as an independent management or technical consultant.
Working Schedule & Travel:
Working Days: Flexible schedule, Monday through Friday (~40 hours/month).
Travel: 0–5 days/month (remote location flexibility with East Coast proximity preferred).
