AI Systems, Automation & Full-Stack Development Manager

About the Role
BMG Hospitality is building an AI-enabled management and operating system for its hospitality businesses across hotels, restaurants and related service businesses.
We are looking for a hands-on technology professional who can help BMG build its own internal systems, integrate existing software, train managers to use AI effectively, automate repetitive work and provide ongoing technical support.
This is not only a programming role.
The successful candidate will be expected to act as BMG’s internal:
Programmer + Systems Integrator + AI Trainer + Automation Specialist + Technical Support Lead
The main objective is simple:
Build the systems. Train the managers. Automate the work.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will help build and maintain BMG’s internal technology systems, including the BMG HRMS, employee records, onboarding, attendance, leave, training records, staff documentation, performance tracking and related HR workflows.
The role will also involve developing a Manager Appraisal and KPI System so that department heads can be assessed based on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance.
The candidate will help develop or integrate AI-assisted staff scheduling, connecting operational requirements with employee availability, manpower requirements and management approval.
A major part of the role will be to train BMG managers to use ChatGPT, Claude and other cloud-based AI tools in their daily work. Managers will use AI for emails, research, reporting, meeting preparation, analysis, recruitment, operations and follow-up work.
The candidate should help each manager identify work that can be automated and improve the manager’s productivity through better use of AI and software.
AI Training for Managers
Each BMG manager will be expected to use AI as part of his or her normal work.
The candidate will therefore train managers such as:

BMG’s technology architecture is designed around integrating operational systems into a unified data and intelligence environment.
Weekly Management Reporting
The candidate will help managers automate their weekly reporting and meeting preparation.
The objective is for operational information to flow automatically into dashboards and management reports so that managers spend less time preparing reports manually.
The role will also support BMG’s Power BI dashboards and other management intelligence systems.
BMG’s technology plan already includes role-based dashboards for management functions including CEO, CFO, CMO, Hotel Manager, Chef, Social Media and F&B.
Technical Support & Bug Fixing
The successful candidate will also be the main technical person supporting BMG’s internal applications.
Responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting software problems
Fixing bugs
Investigating API failures
Resolving database problems
Supporting users
Maintaining integrations
Working with third-party software vendors
Maintaining backups
Monitoring systems
Performing root-cause analysis
Maintaining a bug and incident register
The candidate must be comfortable supporting production systems and resolving issues quickly.

BMG does not expect every line of code to be written manually.
However, the candidate must understand the underlying code and must be able to test, maintain, troubleshoot and secure the systems being developed.
Documentation Requirement
Every system developed must be properly documented.
Documentation should include:

User guide
Troubleshooting guide
BMG considers undocumented systems incomplete. Its existing technology governance framework already requires regular documentation of APIs, database schemas, webhooks and automation logic.
Security & Company Ownership
All source code, software, databases, accounts, repositories, domains, hosting accounts, API keys and intellectual property developed for BMG remain the property of BMG.
All code must be stored in company-controlled repositories.
Personal GitHub repositories or personal hosting accounts should not be used for BMG production systems.
BMG’s technology governance framework specifically requires company ownership of master accounts, credentials and code repositories.
Candidate Profile

Preferred Experience
Ideally:
3–7 years of software-development or systems-integration experience
Experience building internal business systems
Experience integrating APIs
Database and SQL experience
Experience with automation tools
Experience with AI or LLM systems
Experience training business users
Hospitality, hotel, restaurant or multi-site experience is an advantage
Practical experience and a working portfolio are more important than academic qualifications alone.
First 12 Months
The candidate’s priorities will include:
Month 1–3:
Understand BMG’s business processes, systems and workflows. Establish coding, security, documentation and development standards.
Month 3–6:
Develop and improve BMG’s HRMS and Manager Appraisal system.
Month 6–9:
Develop AI scheduling, reporting automation and management workflows.
Month 9–12:
Connect operational systems into dashboards and improve AI adoption across BMG managers.

Working Location
The position will be based at BMG’s KL Sentral office in Kuala Lumpur.
The role may involve supporting BMG operations in Singapore and other markets remotely and occasional travel may be required as the business expands.
Salary
MYR 6,500 – MYR 10,000 per month
