About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Roles & Responsibilities
Translate product requirements into analog and digital circuit designs and define hardware interfaces and component specifications.
Perform circuit design calculations and simulations to verify design performance.
Design and develop MCU/MPU- and FPGA-based hardware, including power supplies, clocks, reset circuits, and peripheral interfaces; participate in design reviews.
Create schematics and PCB layouts to meet design requirements; verify footprints, placement, routing, and electrical and layout design rules.
Implement and debug communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and RS-485, as required by the design.
Develop & debug embedded C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers, including peripheral drivers, sensor interfaces, communication routines, and hardware test functions.
Design & implement FPGA logic using Verilog or VHDL; develop simulation test benches, synthesize designs, apply timing constraints, and verify operation on hardware.
Apply good grounding, routing, decoupling, noise-reduction, and thermal-management practices in PCB layouts; support signal- and power-integrity reviews.
Support EMI/EMC testing, design verification, and issue resolution during product development.
Select components based on functionality, electrical ratings, operating conditions, cost, availability, and lifecycle; prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
Perform component derating calculations and support worst-case and reliability analysis.
Bring up prototype boards, develop and execute validation tests, and verify hardware, firmware, and FPGA functionality against requirements.
Collaborate with firmware, software, and testing teams to integrate embedded code and FPGA logic with the hardware and resolve interface issues.
Troubleshoot hardware, embedded firmware, and FPGA logic issues in existing and new products using laboratory instruments and debugging tools.
Support integration of embedded electronics with mechanical and software systems.
Maintain schematics, PCB manufacturing files, firmware and HDL source code, design documentation, and test results using appropriate version-control practices.
