Role Description The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and processing specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting test results in laboratory information systems, and following established protocols and safety procedures. The technician will work closely with laboratory medicine professionals to ensure timely reporting, quality control, and adherence to regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based at ProMED City Hospital in Guwahati, requiring flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed to support continuous lab operations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine skills relevant to clinical diagnostics.
Candidates should possess core Laboratory Skills, including specimen handling, test performance, and accurate documentation.
Candidates should possess Quality Control skills to monitor, validate, and troubleshoot test results and procedures.
Candidates should possess skills in operating and maintaining Laboratory Equipment, including analyzers and microscopes.
Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, infection control practices, and basic regulatory requirements.
Attention to detail, ability to follow standardized procedures, and strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and laboratory staff.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting in Guwahati or similar environments is an advantage.
