About the Role
We are looking for a PHP Laravel Developer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in web application development. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Laravel, MySQL, REST APIs, and MVC architecture, with the ability to develop, maintain, and optimize scalable web applications.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP and Laravel.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs with frontend and third-party services.
Design and optimize MySQL database structures, queries, and relationships.
Ensure data integrity when working with database operations, background jobs, APIs.
Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following coding standards.
Understand existing code before making changes and follow the project's established architecture, coding standards, and patterns.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues efficiently.
Communicate technical findings, blockers, assumptions, and implementation approach clearly to Senior Developers, DevOps and QA.
Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and project managers.
Participate in code reviews and implement feedback.
Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
Use Git for version control and maintain proper code repositories.
Support deployment activities and work closely with DevOps when required.
Required Skills
1–2 years of experience in PHP and Laravel development.
Strong understanding of Laravel framework (Routing, Middleware, Controllers, Eloquent ORM, Migrations, Blade).
Good understanding of SQL, joins, indexes, grouping, and query optimization.
Basic practical understanding of transactions, database locking, concurrency, race conditions, and idempotency.
Experience integrating third-party APIs and handling API failures/retries.
Experience in developing and consuming REST APIs.
Understanding of MVC architecture and object-oriented programming.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
Experience with Git and Bitbucket/GitHub.
Basic understanding of authentication, authorization, and web security best practices.
Good to Have
Experience with Laravel Queues, Redis, or Caching.
Knowledge of JWT or OAuth authentication.
Basic understanding of Docker and AWS/cloud environment.
Familiarity with Postman for API testing.
Experience with Sentry or similar application monitoring/logging tools.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
