Application Enggineer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Application Engineer role based in Chennai. The Application Engineer will provide technical support for machine tool installations, commissioning, and customer training, ensuring optimal performance of WIAMACHINETOOLS equipment. The role includes configuring and integrating software and hardware, troubleshooting issues on-site, and collaborating with design, production, and service teams to resolve technical problems. The Application Engineer will conduct product demonstrations, prepare application reports, support testing and validation of new solutions, and offer feedback to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Strong Technical Support skills for installation, troubleshooting, and customer-facing issue resolution
Experience or familiarity with Software Development for configuring, integrating, and updating control systems or applications
Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering for understanding machine tool design, operation, and performance optimization
Knowledge of Electrical Engineering for diagnosing control panels, drives, sensors, and related electrical systems
Competence in Testing for validating machine performance, conducting trials, and documenting results
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field
Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and CNC/control documentation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work safely on the shop floor and at customer sites
Willingness to travel to customer locations as required and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
