IT Security Analys

Role Description The IT Security Analyst role is a part-time remote position responsible for safeguarding NS Telecoms’ information systems, networks, and applications. On a day-to-day basis, the IT Security Analyst will monitor security alerts, review logs, and assess system vulnerabilities across internal and customer-facing environments. The role includes implementing and maintaining security controls, supporting secure configuration of network and telecom infrastructure, and assisting with incident response and investigation. The IT Security Analyst will collaborate with technical teams to develop and update security policies, conduct risk assessments, and provide guidance on best practices. This role also involves producing clear documentation and reports on security posture, improvements, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to assess risks and recommend appropriate controls.
Hands-on experience with Network Security, including securing routers, switches, firewalls, and telecom-related network infrastructure.
Knowledge of Information Technology environments, including operating systems, cloud services, and basic networking concepts.
Understanding of Application Security principles, such as secure coding practices, access control, and vulnerability management for software and tools in use.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, SSCP, or equivalent) and experience in security monitoring or incident response are beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in telecoms, ISP, or network operations environments is a plus, along with familiarity with regulatory and data protection standards.
