Associate Project Manager

ABOUT
Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.
We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager who can work across teams, understand bottlenecks, coordinate people and resources, and drive projects to completion. This is a highly execution-oriented role for someone who enjoys solving problems, chasing dependencies, and getting things done rather than simply tracking tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Own projects end-to-end, from planning and execution to closure, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly defined and tracked.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and other teams to coordinate activities and keep projects moving.
Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, risks, and delays, and proactively work with relevant teams to resolve them.
Drive regular project reviews, track milestones and action items, and ensure owners follow through on commitments.
Build and maintain project plans, schedules, resource requirements, and status reports.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure information, decisions, materials, and resources reach the right people at the right time.
Escalate critical issues when required and work with stakeholders to arrive at practical solutions.
Monitor project progress against timelines and proactively communicate changes, risks, and recovery plans to leadership.
Support process improvements and introduce better ways of working to improve execution speed, accountability, and visibility.
Take ownership of problems outside the immediate scope of the role when required to ensure the overall project gets delivered.
Requirements
2-5 years of experience in Engineering Project Management, Operations, or a similar execution-focused role.
Experience managing cross-functional projects involving multiple teams and dependencies.
Strong project planning, coordination, tracking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand technical and operational requirements and work effectively with engineering and non-engineering teams.
Strong ownership and follow-through; comfortable working in situations where there is ambiguity and no predefined playbook.
Aerospace, defence, automotive, manufacturing, hardware, or other complex engineering environments would be preferred.
Comfortable working in a 6-day work week environment and willingness to work extended hours based on project requirements.
