About The Role
The Azure Engineer role at TEKsystems is pivotal in leading the design, development, and operation of cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, specifically utilizing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This position requires a hands-on technical expert capable of guiding full-stack product delivery, including front-end and back-end services, ensuring that solutions are secure, resilient, and scalable. The successful candidate will set technical standards, promote best practices, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable cloud solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence cloud architecture, implement DevSecOps practices, and contribute to the organization’s cloud transformation initiatives. The Azure Engineer will also serve as a mentor, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in senior engineering or lead roles, with a strong background in delivering and managing production-level systems. Essential qualifications include proficiency in Java, especially with Spring Boot, REST API development, and performance optimization. Experience with Python for service development using frameworks like FastAPI or Flask is also required. Demonstrable expertise in building front-end applications with React, preferably with TypeScript, modern hooks, and comprehensive testing strategies, is essential. Candidates must have practical experience working with AKS, understanding Kubernetes fundamentals such as deployments, ingress, configmaps, secrets, and autoscaling. Familiarity with containerization using Docker, CI/CD pipeline creation with Azure DevOps, and security practices like SAST/DAST and secrets management are required. A good understanding of modern identity management protocols such as OAuth2 and OIDC, along with experience in release management strategies, will be advantageous. Additional qualifications include knowledge of Azure services like ACR, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of full-stack applications, including React (TypeScript) front-end interfaces and Java/Python back-end services, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
Design and own cloud-native solutions on AKS, defining service boundaries, resilience patterns, scaling strategies, deployment processes, and operational readiness plans.
Develop and maintain back-end services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python (FastAPI/Flask), focusing on API design, security, and performance tuning.
Create modern, accessible user interfaces with React, emphasizing reusable components, efficient state management, and robust testing.
Manage Kubernetes deployments on AKS, including manifests, ingress configurations, autoscaling, secrets, and service-to-service communication.
Implement DevSecOps practices within Azure DevOps, designing CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates, security scans, and dependency checks.
Enhance observability and production stability through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident management, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
Embed security by design principles, utilizing role-based access controls, secrets management, threat modeling, and modern identity protocols.
Mentor and coach engineers across the stack, leading code reviews, setting standards, and reducing technical debt.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, UX designers, QA, and platform teams to plan and execute delivery, manage risks, and ensure successful outcomes.
Set clear technical direction, balancing delivery speed with long-term sustainability and maintainability.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning.
Take ownership of delivery timelines, production stability, and quality, focusing on root cause resolution rather than temporary fixes.
Streamline processes, automate workflows, and remove blockers to maintain delivery momentum and high-quality outputs.
