Moterra helps regulated enterprises run Claude inside their own AWS or Azure environment, so customer data never reaches Anthropic's training pipelines. We're an official Anthropic partner, based in Borehamwood, UK.
We build two products: Private Claude by Moterra, a private deployment of Claude Cowork inside a customer's own cloud tenant, and Moterra AI Bridge, the governance and integration layer that connects Claude to a customer's existing tools such as SharePoint, Salesforce, Slack and SQL databases without needing new SSO or logins.
Our customers are mostly banks, insurers and other regulated organisations that need GDPR and DORA-defensible AI without vendor lock-in. Clients include Vodafone and Lietuvos Bankas, among others.
The role
We're hiring a mid-level Backend Developer to help build and scale the infrastructure behind Private Claude and AI Bridge. You'll work closely with our CTO and the rest of the engineering team on the systems that let enterprise customers deploy and govern Claude securely inside their own cloud.
This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.
What you'll do
Build and maintain backend services that power secure Claude deployments in customer AWS and Azure environments
Develop integrations with enterprise systems such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Salesforce, Slack and SQL databases
Work on the plugin management and governance features inside Moterra AI Bridge
Build with security and compliance in mind from the start, given our ISO 27001, ISO 42001, SOC 2 and GDPR/DORA requirements
Work with the CTO and wider team on architecture decisions
Support customer deployments and troubleshoot issues in production
What we're looking for
3-5 years of backend development experience, ideally with cloud-native applications
Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure (Bedrock or AI Foundry a plus)
Strong skills in a backend language such as Python, Node.js or Go
Experience with SQL databases and API design
Understanding of security fundamentals: encryption, key management, access control
Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where you'll own things end to end
Based in the UK
Nice to have
Experience integrating with enterprise tools like SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce or Jira
Familiarity with AI/LLM deployment, or Claude specifically
Experience working with regulated industries such as financial services or insurance
Knowledge of compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2 or GDPR/DORA
