Systems Administrator - Enterprise Infrastructure
We have an exciting opportunity for a remote Systems Administrator - Enterprise Infrastructure to join Ferguson's IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will support and maintain a highly distributed enterprise environment across cloud platforms, virtualization technologies, identity services, operating systems, networking, storage, and security solutions. You'll serve as a key technical resource responsible for infrastructure operations, production support, system reliability, and troubleshooting complex issues that impact business-critical systems across the organization.
Location: This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, configure, maintain, debug, and support systems software, hardware, and infrastructure platforms to ensure expected availability, performance, and operational stability.
Monitor, analyze, and tune system performance to identify improvement opportunities, resolve constraints, and optimize reliability across enterprise systems.
Configure, maintain, and monitor security access control systems to support secure, compliant, and properly governed access to enterprise resources.
Perform disaster recovery planning and coordinate business continuity activities, including backup, restoration, recovery readiness, and high-availability support for critical systems.
Manage problem tickets, operational tasks, out-of-cycle requests, system owner requests, software owner requests, and support escalations through timely investigation, documentation, resolution, and follow-up.
Support multi-cloud and hybrid infrastructure operations across Azure, AWS, and GCP, along with on-premises Active Directory, VMware, Windows and Linux systems, networking, storage, security, and enterprise backup platforms.
Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues involving networking, routing, DNS, identity, permissions, compute, storage, virtualization, operating systems, performance, and application connectivity.
Qualifications and Requirements:
4+ years of experience administering enterprise infrastructure in distributed, hybrid, or cloud-based environments.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, VMware, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP), networking, storage, backup technologies, and security access controls.
Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and driving incidents through resolution.
Experience supporting high-availability systems, disaster recovery processes, backup restoration, and business continuity initiatives.
Experience managing service tickets, operational tasks, escalations, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively across infrastructure, engineering, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting/automation tools.
Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and incident management processes.
Relevant Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Azure, or CompTIA certifications.

Pay Range:
Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
$5,444.76 - $9,537.00
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
