Test Engineer

Introduction
We are searching for a talented Engineer with the skills needed to test and analyze electric motor products. You will be a part of the Test & Validation team within the engineering department that develops best-in-class electric machines for exciting applications such as drones, gimbals, and robotics. The position will entail a diverse mix of tasks revolving around the testing and validation of growing product portfolio, you will work closely both with design engineers and other test engineers to realize the team’s goal of creating reliable and high performing electric motors.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in the testing and data logging of electric machines and possess a good working knowledge of how electric machines work and how they are controlled.
This role is ideally suited to an Electrical or Mechatronics Engineer who has a strong interest in all aspects of testing and validation of electric machines and preferably enjoys the hands-on aspects of setting up and commissioning test rigs to undertake the defined tests and collect the required data.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Testing
Conduct tests to validate the design and behavior of our motors.
Execute test cases submitted by the engineering and commercial team.
Document and communicate test results to relevant stakeholders.
Analyze and organize test data and results.
Create test procedures and documentation to ensure consistent results.
Train and assist personnel using our test rigs.
Work with design engineers to understand the test aims and assist in writing procedures to standardize and document test methodologies.
Engineering
Design, upgrade and commission test rigs based on test requirements.
Update and expand our test code (C# / .NET) to automate test cycles and manage data logging.
Document the design and functionality of the test rigs.
Other Tasks
Maintain test rigs, work areas and tested motors, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
Troubleshoot and fault find both test instrumentation and electric machines.
Skills & Competencies
Essential
Relevant engineering degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.).
Strong theoretical understanding of electric machines.
Able to use code (C#/C++/Python other similar) to automate testing and data logging.
Basic mechanical and electrical competency needed to set-up and commission test rigs independently.
Preferred
Experience with the use of ESCs to control electric machines.
Experience with soldering, electrical or machine shop work.
Familiarity with power analyzers and/or other electrical inspection and measurement instruments.
Previous experience in testing or quality assurance.
Experience with test and measurement standards.
