About the Team and the Role: The IPQC/IQC team at Ather is responsible for maintaining rigorous quality control benchmarks across manufacturing operations, ensuring strict adherence to inspection parameters, and driving quality compliance across all sub-assemblies and finished products.
This role is for a Shift In-charge (Battery Plant) to lead a team of quality associates on the shop floor, oversee line and product audits, monitor critical-to-quality parameters, and spearhead root-cause analysis and defect containment during production shifts.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee a team of approximately 40 associates to ensure timely and rigorous inspection of Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters across components and production lines.
Manage and enforce audit governance, including Layered Process Audits (LPA), Poka-Yoke verifications, Patrol audits, and Product audits.
Communicate line quality anomalies immediately to relevant cross-functional teams and drive prompt corrective and containment actions.
Represent the shift quality operations as an auditee during internal and external quality audits, providing requisite data and evidence.
Track and compile daily shift quality performance metrics covering line rejection rates, rework volume, and straight-pass yield.
Facilitate daily scrap and rejection meetings to analyze failure trends and supervise compliant scrap disposal.
Cultivate a shop-floor culture of Continuous Improvement while sustaining high morale, engagement, and operational discipline across the associate workforce.
Uphold Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards by identifying workplace hazards, maintaining legal compliance, and ensuring safe manufacturing practices.
