Role Description The Manager Civil is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing civil engineering project activities from planning through completion. This role includes coordinating project schedules and deliverables, providing technical guidance on infrastructure and stormwater management designs, and reviewing drawings, reports, and specifications for accuracy and compliance. The Manager Civil will supervise and mentor team members, ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards, and support quality control through regular document and field inspection reviews (as applicable). The role also involves communicating with clients and stakeholders, preparing concise project updates, and helping optimize processes to improve project efficiency and outcomes.
Qualifications
Project Management skills to plan, coordinate, and track civil engineering project activities and deliverables.
Stormwater Management expertise to review, design, or guide solutions that align with local regulations and best practices.
Team Leadership capabilities to mentor staff, delegate tasks effectively, and support a collaborative remote work environment.
Inspection experience to oversee or evaluate construction and civil works for quality, safety, and compliance.
Infrastructure knowledge to manage and review road, utility, site, or related civil works projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; professional licensure (e.g., PE) is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation and client reports.
Proficiency with common civil engineering and project management software tools; familiarity with remote collaboration platforms.
Ability to work independently in a part-time, remote setting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
