Thread & Purpose is an upcoming clothing and lifestyle brand based in the UAE, currently in the early stages of developing our first collection. Our vision is to create contemporary, minimalist, and premium everyday clothing for men and women, combining modern silhouettes, elevated comfort, quality fabrics, and thoughtful design.
We are looking for a talented and creative Fashion Designer to collaborate with us on developing our initial clothing collections.
Role Description
We are seeking a Fashion Designer with a strong interest in apparel design and collection development who can translate our brand vision into contemporary and thoughtfully designed clothing.
The ideal candidate should have a refined design aesthetic, good technical knowledge, an understanding of contemporary fashion trends, and the ability to develop creative concepts into practical apparel designs.
You will work closely with our team to develop men's and women's clothing, with an initial focus on contemporary casualwear, elevated everyday essentials, and coordinated outfits.
Key Responsibilities
Develop apparel designs for men's and women's clothing, including shirts, T-shirts, co-ord sets, and contemporary casualwear.
Create mood boards, design concepts, sketches, and collection presentations.
Assist with fabric, colour, and silhouette selection.
Prepare technical drawings and basic garment specifications.
Research current fashion trends and contribute creative ideas aligned with our brand's aesthetic.
Requirements
Graduate in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, or a related apparel design discipline, preferably from NIFT.
A strong portfolio showcasing original clothing designs and creative work.
Good understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and contemporary fashion.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other relevant design software.
Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely.
Engagement Details
This is a remote, paid freelance opportunity, initially offered on a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extending the collaboration as the brand develops.
The scope of work, contract duration, and compensation will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
