Role Description The UI/UX Designer Intern will support the design team in creating user-centered interfaces for web and mobile applications. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with user research, translating requirements into wireframes and mockups, contributing to interactive prototypes, and refining visual design elements under guidance. The intern will collaborate with developers and other designers to ensure designs are practical, consistent, and aligned with product goals. This is an internship role based on-site at Smartters’ office in Bhubaneswar, with regular in-person team interactions and mentorship.
Qualifications
Ability to create clear mockups and wireframes, focusing on layout, hierarchy, and usability.
Strong visual design skills, including typography, color theory, and iconography for digital products.
Experience with prototyping tools to build and iterate on interactive user flows and interfaces.
Basic understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
Foundational knowledge of User Experience Design (UED), including user research, personas, and usability principles.
Proficiency in common design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar) and willingness to learn new tools.
Strong attention to detail, ability to accept and apply feedback, and good communication and collaboration skills.
Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
