About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Data Science UA is a service company with deep expertise in AI and Data Science. Our story began in 2016 with the first Data Science UA Conference in Kyiv, and since then, we have built one of the largest AI communities in Europe.
This role sits at the intersection of Software Engineering and Computer Vision, involving real-time camera video streams, data processing, and ML model inference.
What you will work on
Developing and optimizing Computer Vision pipelines.
Working with cameras and video streams.
Integrating and optimizing ML model inference.
Processing data between CV pipeline stages with minimal latency.
Optimizing CPU/GPU utilization, memory usage, and processing speed.
Identifying and resolving performance issues and complex bugs.
Collaborating with ML/CV engineers to turn models into reliable production pipelines.
Who we are looking for
We care less about a specific programming language and more about experience working with complex, performance-sensitive systems.
Experience in any of the following areas would be highly relevant:
Computer Vision or video processing;
cameras and video streams;
ML inference / inference pipelines;
real-time or low-latency systems;
GPU/CUDA;
OpenCV;
GStreamer / FFmpeg / RTSP;
shared memory / zero-copy architectures;
C++, Python, Go, or similar languages.
Python is the primary language used in the project, but it does not have to be your main programming language.
Nice to have
Experience optimizing inference;
working with large-scale video data streams;
understanding of processes, threads, concurrency, and memory management;
Docker and Linux;
ZeroMQ and other tools for communication between system components.
The project
A real Computer Vision platform for industrial safety, where cameras and ML models operate in real time.
The main focus is performance, stability, and building efficient video processing pipelines.
