Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at Markaz Roshd. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend and web applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and reliability. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, well-documented code, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and collaborating with product and design teams to refine requirements and deliver features. The role also involves integrating APIs and services, optimizing existing systems, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices. The Software Engineer will work closely with other engineers in an agile environment to ship high-quality software on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development principles.
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to debug, optimize, and refactor code for performance and maintainability.
Comfort working in a remote, distributed team with effective written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with agile methodologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar) is a plus.
