Role Description
Position: Executive Engineer (Civil)
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Location: Murshidabad, West Bengal
Salary: ₹35,000 per month
The Executive Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for the overall day-to-day execution, measurement, documentation, billing, and coordination of civil engineering works at project sites.
The candidate must have practical working knowledge of Railway/Civil Infrastructure works, particularly Cess Repair works, and must be familiar with IRWCMS procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage day-to-day civil construction activities at site.
Plan and execute works as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, contractual requirements, and departmental instructions.
Handle and understand Cess Repair works, including site execution, quantity assessment, measurement, and related documentation.
Work independently with IRWCMS and understand the relevant online workflow and documentation requirements.
Prepare and maintain Measurement Books (MB) accurately based on actual site execution.
Prepare/check quantities, measurements, abstracts, and supporting records for executed work.
Prepare and process RA Bills, Final Bills, and other project-related billing documentation.
Maintain proper reconciliation between executed quantities, BOQ quantities, measurements, and billed quantities.
Identify excess, substituted, deviated, and additional quantities during execution.
Prepare and submit Variation Statements/Variation Proposals, including quantity calculations, supporting justifications, comparative statements, and necessary documentation.
Monitor BOQ quantities and inform management in advance regarding anticipated variations or quantity overruns.
Coordinate with departmental engineers, site engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality requirements, and project timelines.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and maintain proper site records.
Resolve technical and execution-related issues at site.
Manage manpower, materials, machinery, and other resources efficiently.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain proper records of drawings, measurements, correspondence, bills, variation statements, and other contractual documents.
Qualifications & Mandatory Experience
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Strong practical knowledge of civil construction and infrastructure works.
Hands-on experience in Cess Repair works is required.
Working knowledge of IRWCMS is mandatory.
Must be capable of preparing and maintaining Measurement Books (MB).
Must have practical experience in preparation and processing of RA Bills/Final Bills.
Must understand BOQ quantity management, deviation, extra/substituted items, and Variation submission procedures.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQ, estimates, and contractual documents.
Experience in building, railway, road, or other infrastructure projects will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of quantity calculation and site measurement.
Experience coordinating with departmental engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and site teams.
Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and progress monitoring.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Candidate must be willing to work full-time on-site in Murshidabad and adapt to project requirements.
