Role Description This is a full-time/part time French Tutor role based in Chennai with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site teaching with some work-from-home flexibility. The French Tutor will deliver engaging lessons to individuals and small groups, following established curricula and adapting materials to meet learner needs and levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning lessons, explaining grammar and vocabulary, supporting speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, and assessing learner progress through assignments and feedback. The tutor will conduct sessions both in person and online, maintain accurate records of student performance, and collaborate with the team to refine teaching strategies and resources. The role also involves communicating regularly with learners and guardians, promoting a positive learning environment, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Vera Nova’s language programs.
Qualifications
Strong French Teaching and Tutoring experience, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different proficiency levels.
Effective Online Tutoring skills, including familiarity with virtual classroom tools and the ability to manage interactive, remote lessons.
Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication, with the capacity to build trust, encourage learner participation, and provide constructive feedback.
Proficiency in spoken and written French; formal certification in French (e.g., DELF/DALF or equivalent) is an advantage.
Experience teaching school-age learners, college students, or adult learners in structured settings is beneficial.
Ability to work in a hybrid mode in Chennai, manage time effectively, and handle multiple learners or groups.
