Engineering Director

Role Description The Engineering Director at FFT - Hospitalités will provide technical and organizational leadership to distributed engineering teams in a part-time, remote capacity. This role oversees the delivery of software solutions, guiding architectural decisions, setting engineering standards, and ensuring high-quality integration with existing systems and partner platforms. The Engineering Director will collaborate with product, operations, and stakeholder teams to prioritize initiatives, define project scopes, and manage timelines and resources. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring team members, reviewing technical designs and code, resolving blockers, aligning engineering roadmaps with business goals, and continuously improving development processes and tools. The role also involves monitoring performance metrics, managing risk, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable engineering culture.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management skills, including setting technical direction, defining processes, and overseeing scalable, reliable systems.
Proven Team Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor engineers, build diverse and inclusive teams, and promote cross-functional collaboration.
Hands-on Software Development background, ideally in modern web or cloud technologies, with the ability to review code and guide architectural decisions.
Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex technical initiatives.
Experience with Integration of systems and APIs, ensuring secure, efficient interoperability between internal and external platforms.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
Comfort working in a remote, part-time environment, with strong self-organization and time management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
Experience in hospitality, healthcare, or service-oriented industries is an advantage.
