Role Description The Mould Designer will be responsible for designing injection molds for caps and closures and other related components, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and production efficiency. Day-to-day tasks include developing detailed 2D and 3D designs, preparing drawings and specifications, and collaborating with production, quality, and maintenance teams to refine mold designs and resolve technical issues. The role involves reviewing customer requirements, selecting appropriate materials and components, optimizing mold layouts, and supporting trials and modifications based on performance feedback. The Mould Designer will maintain design documentation, adhere to safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in tooling and processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE tools for mold design (e.g., AutoCAD, UG/NX) and experience with 2D and 3D modeling.
Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling design principles, mold components, and materials used in caps and closures manufacturing.
Experience in reading and creating engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, and applying GD&T for precision components.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and incorporate feedback into design improvements.
Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting mold performance issues, optimizing cycle time, and improving productivity and quality.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related technical field; prior experience in mold design for plastics is an advantage.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple design projects and deadlines.
