Junior Software Engineer

Q International Group runs three connected businesses: Aeria Apartments in London, Q Apartments in Denmark, and Q Global Network, our international corporate relocation business. We are building the platforms that all three will run on, and we are building it ourselves.
We are hiring Junior Software Engineers to work on the QGN platform. You will work across the whole stack, from database schema through API to interface, in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python and .NET, on AWS serverless infrastructure. The work is greenfield, the decisions are still being made, and your code will be running in a business that notices when it works.
What you will do
Build and ship features end to end, covering data, API and interface.
Write tests for what you build and review your colleagues' work as they review yours.
Work directly with colleagues across our three brands to understand what they need.
Help shape a platform and the practices around it, rather than maintaining someone else's.
What we are looking for
We care more about how you think than about what is on your CV.
Six to twenty-four months of commercial development experience.
Something you have built and shipped that you can talk us through honestly, including the parts you would do differently.
Comfort when a requirement is incomplete, because ours often are, and the instinct to ask the question rather than guess quietly.
Proficiency in at least one of TypeScript, JavaScript, Python or C#/.NET, together with a solid understanding of databases and HTTP, and confidence using Git, Jira and code review practices.
Full professional fluency in spoken and written English, including the ability to communicate confidently in both conversational and business settings.
Exposure to AWS, PostgreSQL or automated testing is welcome but not required. Depth in one of our languages counts for more than passing familiarity with all four.
