Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Interior Designer located in Bengaluru. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong passion for interior design to gain hands-on experience and contribute to exciting projects under the guidance of senior designers. The Junior Interior Designer will assist in various stages of the design process, from conceptualisation to execution, while developing their skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative setting.Additionally, the Junior Interior Designer will be involved in site visits to monitor progress and ensure design implementation aligns with plans.
Responsibilities
Design Idea Contribution: Participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing creative textile design ideas that align with project briefs and aesthetic goals.
Client Interaction Support: Assisting senior designers in client meetings, taking notes, and learning to understand client needs and preferences related to textiles.
Photoshop Presentations: Learning to create and assist in the development of visual presentations using Adobe Photoshop to showcase textile options and design concepts.
Material Exploration: Assisting in the sourcing and organization of textile samples and materials.
Pattern and Color Support: Contributing to the creation of patterns and color palettes under the guidance of senior designers, utilizing both hand-drawn and digital tools.
Collaboration: Working with the design team to understand project requirements and contribute to the overall design vision.
Supplier Interaction: Assisting in communication with textile suppliers for sample requests and information gathering.
Quality Control Assistance (QC): Learning and assisting in the process of inspecting textile samples and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Labor Coordination Support: Under supervision, assisting in the coordination with fabricators, upholsterers, and other related labor to ensure proper execution of textile applications.
Site Inspection Assistance: Accompanying senior designers on site visits to understand installation requirements and ensure textile selections are appropriate for the space.
Administrative Tasks: Providing general administrative support to the design team as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is highly desirable. Familiarity with other design software (e.g., SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
Strong understanding of design principles, spatial planning, and color theory.
Excellent visual communication and presentation skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Previous experience in the interior design industry is a plus
Interview Process:
Initial Application Review: Resumes and portfolios will be carefully reviewed based on the qualifications and demonstrated passion for textile design.
First Round Interview (In-Person): Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an initial interview with a member of our design team or HR to discuss their background, design interests, and portfolio in more detail.
Portfolio Review and Design Exercise: Candidates progressing to the next stage may be asked to present their portfolio in detail and/or complete a small design-related task to assess their creative and technical skills.
Final Interview (In-Person): Final candidates will meet with senior members of the design team or management for a more in-depth discussion about their suitability for the role and company culture.
Offer: Successful candidates will receive an offer of employment.
